At $50 per half of the year, this credit is worth $100 a year — but only to someone who uses it in all 2 windows. Use it in half of them and it is worth $50.
Set against the card’s $325 annual fee, using this one credit in full covers 31% of it.
How the semi-annual reset works
It resets twice a year, usually on 1 January and 1 July. Two windows. Miss the January–June half and you have lost half the credit's annual value with no way to make it up in the second half.
Cardful tracks this credit to the cent, shows how much of the current half of the year is still unclaimed, and reminds you before the window closes — which is the whole reason the app exists.
